Apple is working on a new fitness tracker with a screenless design, similar to the one made by Whoop, according to reporting from TechCrunch. Bloomberg first reported the development of the device.
Prototypes feature a thin fabric band equipped with a sensor-computing module. The hardware remains in an early stage of development.
Apple would likely not release the product before 2028, according to the reporting. The company recently added features used by Whoop to the Apple Watch Series 12, including continuous heart rate tracking.
