Google detailed five home decor search tools on August 25, 2026, citing a 300 percent rise in queries for "home decor inspo" over the past month. The company reported that searches for "bathroom inspo" and "living room inspo" also recorded breakout growth, while teal and magenta emerged as trending paint colors.
Google outlined how AI Mode in Search allows users to upload a room photograph alongside specific wall measurements to generate furniture recommendations and visual mockups directly inside the image. For physical items, Google Lens in the Google application on iOS and Android matches photographed decor, such as trending vintage braided rugs and wood coffee tables, to online retail listings.
Circle to Search on Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S26 devices enables shoppers to circle decor items across web pages, videos, and social feeds without leaving the active application. Google cited searches for fish wallpaper, which climbed 140 percent in the past month. For DIY projects like installing floating shelves, Google added Search Live to its mobile app search bar, combining voice prompts with live camera feeds for step-by-step guidance.
The company also highlighted price tracking tools for items such as funky lamps and harlequin wallpaper, both of which registered breakout search volume over the past month. Search displays retail comparisons and a dropdown menu showing whether a listing is high, low, or typical compared to its historical price, alongside a "Track price" alert button.
