Google Signs Gemini and Pixel Deals With Five Football Clubs

Google has secured long-term consumer AI and smartphone partnerships with Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern München, Liverpool FC, and Paris Saint-Germain.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Google signed long-term partnerships with Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern München, Liverpool FC, and Paris Saint-Germain on Aug. 17, 2026.
  • Gemini is designated as the clubs' Official Consumer AI Partner to deliver real-time match data, formation analysis, and historical club statistics.
  • Google Pixel becomes the Official Smartphone Partner, featuring a 'Shot on Pixel' content series and official wallpapers for the Pixel 11.
  • The agreements apply equally across both men's and women's squads to increase media coverage for women's football.

Google has formed long-term partnerships with five European football clubs, designating Gemini as their Official Consumer AI Partner and Pixel as their Official Smartphone Partner, the company announced on Aug. 17. The agreements cover Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern München, Liverpool FC, and Paris Saint-Germain across both their men's and women's teams.

Under the terms of the agreements, Gemini will deliver match and club insights, real-time statistics, and direct answers to supporter queries. Google stated that the system's agentic capabilities are built to execute tasks proactively, from breaking down mid-match formation changes during European club clashes to providing head-to-head historical records to settle post-match discussions.

Pixel media production

For the hardware component of the agreement, club social and media teams will use Pixel cameras integrated with Google AI tools. Google announced that these tools will power a dedicated "Shot on Pixel" series designed to capture unfiltered moments, emotions, and pitch-side action. The company also confirmed the release of official club wallpapers for the Pixel 11 smartphone.

Women's football coverage

A core element of the partnership focuses on addressing the visibility gap in women's football. While women's tournaments have seen record-breaking attendance, Google noted that the sport still experiences a deficit in broader media coverage. By establishing equal partnership terms across both men's and women's squads, Google and the five clubs intend to produce dedicated pitch-side content and amplify international reach through official team and Google channels.
