Google launched a suite of artificial intelligence study tools in Search on Aug. 19, adding interactive simulations, automated practice tests, visual problem-solving through Google Lens, and document creation features.
The company rolled out generative user interface tools globally in English within AI Mode, with an ongoing rollout to AI Overviews. The tool generates interactive visuals and simulations directly within query responses to demonstrate scientific concepts such as pH scales.
Search also introduced free practice quizzes across subjects including mathematics, science, humanities, and foreign languages. For standardized test preparation, Google partnered with The Princeton Review, Careers360, PhysicsWallah, and Akira Enem. The system generates custom quizzes with answer explanations and resource links for the ACT, AP, ENEM, GRE, JEE, LSAT, MCAT, NEET, and SAT.
Google announced that Lens in the Google app for Android and iOS will introduce an interactive learning feature in the coming weeks. The feature lets users photograph study problems to receive step-by-step explanations, error identification, and coaching, with follow-up queries handled in AI Mode. Google also began bringing Gemini Notebook, formerly known as NotebookLM, into AI Mode across more than 180 countries in English, allowing users to sync notes and class materials directly into Search.
Search now allows users to generate study files from uploaded notes, lecture slides, and AI Mode threads. The file creation feature launched globally in English within AI Mode and is scheduled to expand to AI Overviews, supporting documents, slide presentations, spreadsheets, and text files.
