Google has launched new artificial intelligence and agentic features across Google Ads and Google Analytics, introducing automated homepage summaries, text-based visual reporting, and industry benchmarking. The updates expand Ask Advisor, an in-product AI agent built with Gemini that sits within Google’s marketing tools.
Google Analytics now features AI Overviews located at the top of the homepage. These overviews present summaries of performance shifts that occurred since the user last logged into the account, such as traffic changes or seasonal sales peaks. Selecting a data card transfers its context directly to Ask Advisor for additional analysis. Google added options to receive these AI summaries through email or phone notifications at custom frequencies.
Homepage insights and visual reports
Google Ads received an updated homepage layout featuring personalized AI insight cards. A prompt box situated above the cards allows advertisers to request custom reports on topics such as competitor effects on impression share or recommendations for improving campaign results.
Google introduced Dashboards inside Google Ads to convert raw data into visual reports using simple text prompts. Each generated report includes an automated real-time text summary explaining the underlying factors behind the data trends. Google did not state when Dashboards will launch in Google Analytics.
For campaign evaluations, Google Analytics integrated a benchmarking feature into Ask Advisor. The tool compares account campaign metrics against anonymized average figures from similar businesses to identify potential growth areas.
Kevin Marshall, paid media director at Gardyn, said Ask Advisor gives his team directional checks on paid media performance that allow them to adjust strategies quickly. Google noted that its generative AI tools remain experimental, with automated summaries generated directly by Google AI.
