Privacy Policy
Xentir Media is a static website designed to collect as little data as possible.
What we collect
- Server/CDN logs: our host (Cloudflare) processes standard request data (IP, user agent) to serve and secure the site.
- Analytics: we measure how pages are read using our own first-party counter, which records only aggregate events (a page view, a scroll depth, a link click) and no identifier. We also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which do set their own cookies in your browser; you can block them with any standard content blocker without affecting the site. We do not sell personal data, and our analytics never receive your name, email address or payment data.
- New or returning: your browser keeps a small record — first visit, last visit, and a count — in its own local storage for up to 180 days, so it can tell us whether you are a first-time or returning reader. That record never leaves your browser and contains no identifier: we receive the answer, not a number that could be traced back to you. Clearing your browser data removes it, and it is not written at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
- Email address: if you subscribe to The Xentir Brief we collect the email address you submit — that is the only field the form has, and we never ask for your name. If you email us directly we hold that correspondence and your address for as long as it takes to answer you. The Xentir Brief (newsletter)
What we collect. One field: the email address you type into the form. There is no name field and no other personal data is requested or stored.
Who processes it. The form posts to our own endpoint on Cloudflare rather than to a third party inside your browser — the site loads no marketing or signup scripts. That endpoint validates the address and passes it server-to-server to our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit, Kit.com Inc., United States), which stores the subscriber list and sends the issues. Your address is not written to our own request logs. In the fallback case where our primary Kit path is unavailable, your IP address is forwarded to Kit alongside the address as an anti-spam signal.
Why. Solely to confirm your subscription and send you The Xentir Brief. Your address is added to the list immediately: the signup goes to Kit through their API, which does not send a confirmation email, so there is no second click. Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask for full erasure at any time (below). We do not sell or rent subscriber addresses, use them for advertising, or disclose them except to service providers required to operate The Xentir Brief, currently Kit.
How long we keep it. For as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Kit keeps the record in an unsubscribed state so that choice can be honoured; if you ask for erasure instead, we delete the record outright within 30 days.
How to leave or be erased. Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link. For full erasure, email [email protected] from — or naming — the subscribed address, and we will delete it from Kit and confirm.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from The Xentir Brief with the link in any issue, ask us to erase your subscriber record or any correspondence data by emailing [email protected], and block our third-party analytics with any standard content blocker without affecting the site.
