NVIDIA announced planned investments in four French startups on Tuesday, expanding its corporate backing across Europe’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
The chipmaker named healthcare technology company Doctolib, materials science firm Entalpic, robotics developer Genesis AI, and business software platform Pigment as recipients of the new funding, according to an announcement published by NVIDIA. NVIDIA has committed nearly $10 billion to technology companies across Europe, having earlier backed French ventures Alice & Bob, Gradium, and Scintil Photonics.
Doctolib builds software agents to handle administrative workflows for medical staff and assist patients with preventive care. Paris-based Entalpic models materials at the atomic scale for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. Genesis AI produces foundation models and hardware for general-purpose robotics, while Paris-based Pigment operates an enterprise planning and forecasting platform.
Sovereign infrastructure
French computer maker Bull plans to expand European manufacturing of NVIDIA Vera Rubin Ultra NVL72 systems by 2028. Bull will assemble server trays in Europe and complete rack integration at its Angers plant, which opened on Oct. 2.
In orbit, the Altair-1 satellite launched this month as the first unit in a planned $1 billion, 50-satellite constellation. Integrated by Loft Orbital and built in Abu Dhabi by Orbitworks, the satellite carries NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin modules running models from French startup Mistral for autonomous Earth observation.
French public institutions are also rolling out domestic systems. Software vendors LINAGORA and Docaposte secured the CANUT framework contract, establishing Twake.ai—built on NVIDIA Nemotron models—as the sovereign digital workspace for more than 2,500 French public bodies. Financial software firm SBS is launching a sovereign banking platform with NVIDIA, and Mistral opened private preview access to its Mistral Large 4 model last week.
Industry deployments
Cosmetics manufacturer L’Oréal added NVIDIA ALCHEMI software to its research pipeline, reporting formulation testing that operates up to 100 times faster than physical laboratory testing alone. E-commerce firm Mirakl processed more than 70 million product listings using NVIDIA graphics processing units, cutting catalog onboarding times to less than two hours.
Local infrastructure operators have deployed automated monitoring tools. In Côte-d’Or, an environmental digital twin developed by ThinkDeep and Akila monitors nearly 5,800 kilometers of roads and public buildings, reducing operating costs by 10 percent with a target of 30 percent. Port Sud de France operates cargo logistics and security through ThinkDeep’s DeepBrain system.
Telecommunications provider Bouygues Telecom and software vendor Prisme.ai deployed AI Studio V2 on NVIDIA hardware, allowing staff to build internal software agents. In Paris, robotics firm Enchanted Tools deployed social robots in healthcare environments, including pediatric oncology units.
Quantum computing developers Alice & Bob and Quandela integrated NVIDIA NVQLink hardware to connect classical processors with superconducting cat qubits and photonic qubits. NVIDIA did not disclose the financial terms of its planned investments in Doctolib, Entalpic, Genesis AI, or Pigment.
Fondation Inria is creating an open-source modeling working group with NVIDIA, with research findings expected in spring 2027. NVIDIA Chief Executive Jensen Huang will give a keynote address at GTC Berlin on Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. CEST.
